Our First Lady
First Lady Kimberley Whittington Nixon was born and raised in Roaring River, NC. She is the daughter of Mr. Joseph and the late Sara Whittington. At an early age, she was an active member of the Poplar Spring Baptist Church in Roaring River. She is an Honors Graduate of East Wilkes High School. She was very active in that she was a 3 year Varsity Cheerleader (Co-Captain as a Senior), and active student in the Canipe School of Dance, and a host of other activities.
Upon graduation, First Lady Nixon attended NC State University in Raleigh, NC where she majored in Business Management with a concentration in Accounting. While at NC State, First Lady Nixon was active in many campus endeavors such as serving as President of Dance Vision Dance Ensemble, Graduation Marshal, and Chancellor’s Aide and University Hostess.
After graduating Magna Cum Laude, she married Reverend Brian L. Nixon in 1990 and moved to Wilmington, De. In 1991, the Nixon’s moved to Greenville, NC where First Lady started her career in Banking. She worked for the New East Bank in Greenville and rose to the position of Branch Manager. In 1996, she left her position at the bank to remain in the home with their first child, Amber. Shortly after, two more children were born, Brandon in 1998 and Christa in 1999. Later in 1999, she resumed her career as a Staff Accountant for the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, NC
In 2002, Reverend and First Lady Nixon moved to Salisbury, Md. While in Salisbury, First Lady became involved in many of the community and school activities such as the PTA, Band Boosters, and school volunteer. She was also worked in the Wicomico County Public Schools as a Educational Assistant. In 2005, she became the First Lady of the Holy Trinity Baptist Church when Pastor Nixon was called to the Holy Trinity Baptist Church in Pungoteague, Va. While at Holy Trinity, First Lady Nixon was very active by serving as a Youth Sunday School Teacher, HTBC Dance Ministry Leader, Deaconess, and member of the HTBC Praise Posse Choir. Also in 2005, First Lady became an Independent Representative with Silpada Designs, a Sterling Silver Jewelry company. Through her hard work and dedication, she has risen to the rank of Star Leader within the company.
